Sabbath Worship December 7, 2012
by Sanctified Brother
Happy Sabbath, everyone. Blessings and peace to you on this cold and rainy New York City night. I am blessed to be among the living and the favored, those who have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Or…grace, peace, and hope. Or…a warm house, healthy food, and functional organs. Yep, one of the elite in this world.
Our Sabbath worship was unique today. We went to church to listen to the praise team rehearse instead of staying home for personal devotionals. It was a welcomed change of pace and added a bit of umph to our Friday night. There’s something exciting about going out at night and coming back later that made the experience seem worthwhile, despite knowing that we’ll be tired in the morning.
My son took his bass and jammed with the musicians, learning a few hand tricks along the way. The little fellow will be joining them when the time is right so he’s practicing now. It’s great knowing that my son is in church on Friday nights, not running the street and getting into trouble.
We took the train home and hustled through the raindrops that threatened us with their sharp stabs, making it through the door before too much damage was done. I’m calling it a night now because I have to get up in the morning and get to church. I have to be a good example to you, after all…
