In the Morning When I Rise

In the morning, when I rise, the sun bursts through my window to announce the day’s blessings. I listen eagerly and intently to the joyful noise. God is a fair and loving God because He sends His glorious sunshine on the crack heads, heroin leaners, alcoholics, tramps, petty thugs, crooked cops, skinheads, sex offenders, cheating spouses, politicians, and slumlords—as well as the rest of us who think we’re better than them.
