Daily Prompt: Un/Faithful

Tell us about the role that faith plays in your life — or doesn’t. — Daily Prompt

My world and my life are based on an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Savior (that’s to be expected: I’m an unapologetic born-again Christian). There are many erroneous views of this amazing man, none of which do justice to the impact of His ultimate sacrifice for everyone who ever lived, is living now, and will live in the future.

Life without faith is life without meaning, life without purpose, and life without possibility. I have hope for the future and mankind because of faith. My skills and expertise are enough to accomplish certain tasks that I’ve been trained for, however there are variables outside my control that can be manipulated in my favor through faith. Jesus said that I could make a mountain get up, at my orders, and jackknife into the sea. By faith. Read it for yourself:

“I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
— Mark 11:23

Aren’t there mountains in your life that you’d prefer to dump into the deep sea? Bills…disease…sin…sexual abuse…addiction…emotional baggage…what else? Those mountains can be removed and dumped into the sea. Permanently. All it requires is faith in God’s ability to deliver you from your troubles. That’s incredible—yet 100% possible because of God.

I encourage you to pursue faith in God. It requires letting go of superstitions and misconceptions, certainly. It requires learning to trust in the true and legitimate supernatural power who can empower you to greatness. It’s worth the risk and can make the difference between living a life weighed down with emotional baggage and living a victorious life without worry. Give it a try!
